Our company “Alter Domus” means “Second Home” in Latin. It is a relocation consultancy firm based on the island of Penang. Penang is situated on the northwestern part of Peninsular Malaysia. We handle immigration matters and specializes in Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H). Alter Domus is an official sponsor for MM2H and we are licensed by the Ministry of Tourism. Being efficient in all work, we obtained the very first license and we are very proud to bear the license number MM2H-0001. We are probably the largest sponsor in Penang and we have been operating formally since 2005 and informally since 2001.

What Foreigner Can Buy in Johor?

Land is a state matter. The following guideline is only applicable for the state of Johor. It may differ for other states in Malaysia. MalaysiaMyHome will look into property acquisition policies by foreigner/ foreign company for other states in Malaysia soon.
Foreigners or foreign companies must get the Johor state consent prior to purchase any property or real estate in Johor. The guideline can be categorized into 2 categories as follows:
Buying direct from the property developer
(Foreigners only allowed to purchase the following properties)
- 2 storey terrace house and above – RM 250,000 and above
- 2 storey semi-detached and above – RM 250,000 and above
- 2 storey bungalow or empty lot for bungalow – RM 250,000 and above
- Apartment/ Condominium – RM 250,000 and above
- Holiday home – RM 250,000 and above
Buying from an individual or company
(Foreigners only allowed to purchase the following properties)
- 2 storey bungalow/ hoilday home – RM 500,000 and above
- 2 storey semi0detached and above – RM 350,000 and above
- Apartment/ Condominium – RM 350,000 and above
The application fee is RM 500. Upon approval, a levy of RM 10,000 is to be paid.

Malaysia My Second Home Programme is promoted by the Government of Malaysia to allow foreigners who fulfill certain criteria, to stay in Malaysia for as long as possible on a multiple-entry social visit pass.
