<p>Land is a state matter. The following guideline is only applicable for the state of Johor. It may differ for other states in Malaysia. MalaysiaMyHome will look into property acquisition policies by foreigner/ foreign company for other states in Malaysia soon.</p>
<p>Foreigners or foreign companies must get the Johor state consent prior to purchase any property or real estate in Johor. The guideline can be categorized into 2 categories as follows:</p>
<p><strong>Buying direct from the property developer </strong></p>
<p><em>(Foreigners only allowed to purchase the following properties</em>)<strong><br />
</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>2 storey terrace house and above &#8211; RM 250,000 and above</li>
<li>2 storey semi-detached and above &#8211; RM 250,000 and above</li>
<li>2 storey bungalow or empty lot for bungalow &#8211; RM 250,000 and above</li>
<li>Apartment/ Condominium &#8211; RM 250,000 and above</li>
<li>Holiday home &#8211; RM 250,000 and above</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Buying from an individual or company</strong></p>
<p><em>(Foreigners only allowed to purchase the following properties</em>)<strong><br />
</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>2 storey bungalow/ hoilday home &#8211; RM 500,000 and above</li>
<li>2 storey semi0detached and above &#8211; RM 350,000 and above</li>
<li>Apartment/ Condominium &#8211; RM 350,000 and above</li>
</ol>
<p>The application fee is RM 500. Upon approval,  a levy of RM 10,000 is to be paid.</p>
